Justin Garrod is left to take charge of the pigeon control solo - and all his abilities are called on when huge numbers of the grey menace descend on an oilseed crop field. There's a bumper bag to be had, and we're there to capture all the shooting on camera.

Pigeon Shooting Hunting Video - In Wiltshire, deer stalker and syndicate shooter Rob Tilbury is testing out a new patch of ground. The first job is to clear up the pigeons, so grabbing his Browning shotgun and Eley Hi Flyer shells, he sets about the task. New ground never lends itself to massive bags, but we nevertheless get some shooting action on camera.

David Virtue is our host north of the border, and he has four guests and two days' pigeon shooting lined up to ensure a wealth of bird-blasting action for our cameras. With all the best kit at our disposal, and the crops scheduled to come off just in time for our arrival, we should be in for a treat if we get the hide in the right place -- and if the farmers don't spoil our plans by harvesting early!

Geoff Garrod faces his biggest challenge yet: A veritable plague of pigeons that's descended on an oilseed crop. Grabbing his trusty Browning Maxus and Eley shells, he's not doing this by halves: he sets up the hide right in the middle of the field. This is his biggest chance yet to achieve a 100-plus bag.

First, we're back with pigeon-shooting maestro Geoff Garrod, motoring down to Essex on the news there's a bumper bag to be had. Geoff is in action pruning a pigeon population that's plaguing a pea plantation -- and we get there just in time to capture all the action on camera. But as always, things don't go quite to plan...

Our cameras follow celebrity gamekeeper Geoff Garrod as he takes Eley Hawk's finest, Tomas Atienza, out after pigeons. Geoff is a seasoned pigeon shooter and has plenty of wisdom to share with Tomas. There are lessons to be learned from the initial set-up and decoying right through to taking the shot and picking up, but will the British weather make all Tomas' new found knowledge purely theoretical, or can they dodge the showers to rack up a sizable tally of pigeons?

Realtree Global Hunting joins Team Wild's very own Steve "Wildy" Wild and Big Steve with SPD Pest Control to take care of some pesky wood pigeons in the countryside of Derbyshire. These fowl have a habit of destroying crops and costing farmers thousands of pounds in damages each year, but our boys are back and taking care of the problem one shot at a time. Tune in to see how many of the birds the pair can bag and what techniques they utilise to lure them in and take them down.

Pigeon Shooting Patrol
Geoff Garrod and son Justin answer a friend's call and head out to control a pigeon population that's wreaking havoc on a rape crop. In position with a natural hide and a convincing decoy pattern, the two lay in wait -- but their efforts are derailed when everything starts to go wrong at once. Worse (for Geoff), Justin's getting all the birds. With a father-son rivalry emerging, the pair are soon making feathers fly as they put their Brownings to good use and protect the crops in the process.

Game chef Mark Gilchrist is riding shotgun (literally) with Andy 'Crow Man' Crow on a combine harvester looking out for rabbits. And Sporting Shooter editor Dom Holtam is having a hard time finding a fallow buck amid a sea of fallow does. With a week to go until the grouse shooting season starts, this is the cream of British shooting sports for you: pigeons in the wheat cut, fallow bucks and pigeon glut.

Pigeon Shoot starts at 13:40
George Digweed is pushing his skills to the limit this week by shooting pigeons on a flight line. He's set-up his hide inside the woodland next to a maize field and the birds are "up-there". There are plenty of tips and jokes as George once again proves to be simply an amazing shot.

George Digweed is looking forward to a better year's pigeon shooting than last year. Where did those birds go? The 22-times world champion clay shooter is talking about his pigeon shooting techniques - and his shooting is out of this world. Meanwhile, we're off to a much-loved pheasant and partridge shoot on chalky downland in Hampshire. It promises driven shooting of the highest quality.

Byron's back in the borders with Steve Gray at the Branxholm pheasant shoot. Owned and operated by a syndicate, it's on one of its last days of the season and the guns have come from all corners. The shooting is precise and the feathers are flying as we capture two days' worth of game shooting action on camera.
Tuesday, November 19, 2013
In a decoying special, Essex gamekeeper Geoff Garrod sets up the deeks and the hide overlooking a pea crop, which the local pigeon population has taken to marauding. All's set for a day of fast shooting and feathers flying -- but the unseasonal snow has hardly helped matters. Decoying amid a carpet of the white stuff is hardly ideal conditions, but Geoff and his Browning A5 auto are up to the challenge. This is one you won't want to miss.
